What’s that word again?

The other day, my mom asked me to look up “fa ya mi” on the net. A few searches later, I find out that it’s called “germinated brown rice” in English, and is very nutritious, even more so than regular brown rice.

Me: I know what fa ya mi is! It’s germinated brown rice!
Mom: (comes over) What? Terminated brown rice?
Dad: (comes over as well) Granulated brown rice?
Me: Germinated!

Then last night…
Mom: So we’ll try making our own germicide brown rice…
Me: *wasn’t sure I heard right* What?
Mom: Germicide brown rice.
Me: It’s “germinated”!

LOL LOL LOL.

Hahaa… I couldn’t help it and laugh… it reminds me of how parents still cannot get accustomed to the english dictionary… to this day, my mom still says Keiko as Neeko.
